Good Candidates For Laser Tattoo Removal
Lighter skin colours generally respond more quickly to laser tattoo removal treatments than darker skin. When a person has fair skin, the contrast between the natural skin tone and the tattoo is greater, allowing your specialist to target the tattoo more intensively without damaging surrounding skin.
That doesn’t mean that darker skin can’t be treated. It’s just a matter of needing more treatments before you get the results you want. So, if you’re tanned, it’s a good idea to let your tan fade a little before starting the process.

Laser Tattoo Removal Treatment Process
Lasers remove tattoos by breaking up the pigment colors with a high-intensity light beam. Black tattoo pigment absorbs all laser wavelengths, making it the easiest color to treat. Other colors can only be treated by selected lasers based upon the pigment color.
The number of treatments you will need will depend on the age, size, and color(s) of your tattoo. The color of your skin, as well as how deep the tattoo pigment goes, will also affect the removal technique.
Smaller tattoos will require fewer pulses while larger ones will need more to remove them. In either case, to completely get rid of a tattoo, it will take several treatments. After each visit, your tattoo should become progressively lighter.
It’s crucial to pay close attention to the area, especially in the days immediately following treatment.
For the first three days, cover the area with a layer of antibiotic healing ointment. Keep it bandaged with sterilized gauze. Don’t apply any other creams or makeup to the treated area within the first few days.
You can remove the bandage after three days, but keep the area as clean and dry as possible. You may also apply Vaseline, Aquaphor, or hydrocortisone cream to moisturize the area as it heals.
Vitamin E ointment is helpful too, as it helps to restore damaged skin cells.
And, you should wear sunblock (SPF 25+) any time you go outside. Sun exposure is one of the worst things for the skin after Lasser Tatoo Removal.
